- 35 Cantons,438 communes with a land area of 6 139 km
² - with differing climates, geographical features and
dialects.
Location
Aude is located between
Mediterranean Sea and the Pyrenees mountains.
It is part of the current region of
Languedoc-Roussillon. It is surrounded by the
departments of Pyrénées-Orientales,
Ariège,Haute-Garonne,Tarn and Hérault, with the Golfe
de Lion on the East.
